Active & Connected Program Inaugurated!

A Day of Celebration and Creativity

Our inauguration event was a heartwarming success, attended by families, elders, and young people alike. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as we introduced the core pillars of the program:

  • Reducing Isolation by creating a safe space for all.
  • Gentle Exercise to promote physical health.
  • Creative Workshops to spark imagination.
  • Building Confidence through shared learning.

Highlights from the Event

The images from the day speak for themselves! Our younger participants dove straight into the Creative Workshops, showcasing their artistic talents with crayons and drawings.

Meanwhile, our community leaders and elders gathered to discuss the roadmap for the program, emphasizing the importance of staying “active and connected” in today’s world.

“Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces and the engagement from our elders confirms how vital these spaces are for our community. We are incredibly grateful to the National Lottery players for making this happen.” — Pure Support Team

What’s Next?

The “Active & Connected” program is just getting started! We have a full calendar of events planned, including sewing workshops, group exercises, and social mixers. We invite everyone in the community to get involved. Whether you want to learn a new skill, meet new people, or simply enjoy a cup of tea in good company, there is a place for you here.

Pure Support Wins Community Fund Grant for “Active & Connected” Project

Pure Support is proud to announce that we’ve secured £9,300 from the Awards For All for our “Active & Connected” project. This initiative provides a free, culturally sensitive space for 50-70 ethnic minority women and girls in the Streatham and Tooting areas. The program features fortnightly exercise walks in local parks alongside monthly creative workshops focused on sewing and traditional arts. To ensure full accessibility, health seminars on wellbeing and self-care will be delivered in local language. Activities will take place in familiar local venues like mosque rooms and community halls to maintain a safe, welcoming environment. Our goal is to reduce isolation and build lasting friendships through these regular, bilingual sessions. Finally, we thank The National Lottery Community Fund for supporting our mission to help local women thrive and stay active.
